How to Choose a Golf Bag:
Some golfers prefer a comfortable lightweight golf bag that's easy
to carry, while others that use carts, like big tour staff bags like the professionals use.
What types of golf bags can I choose from?
Tour golf bags, also known as staff bags: Tour
golf bags are generally used by touring professionals, they are quite large and usually have a 9-10" diameter for club entrance.
They are produced mainly in leather but are also available in nylon. They have a variety of pockets and are useful for storing
large items like towels, water, food etc. These types of bags tend to be quite expensive, and are
not recommended unless you regualrly use a riding cart.
Cart bags: Cart
bags are considerably smaller than staff bags but cheaper as well. They are also not recommended unless you use a cart
or trolley, as they do not have a stand of their own. Cart bags are often made from nylon.
Lightweight stand bags: These are very light, less expensive, and have their own stand. Great for walking the course, but not
as protective for traveling.
